Something to Think About

Matthew 7:1-5 CEV
Don’t condemn others, and God won’t condemn you. God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them. You can see the speck in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the log in your own eye. How can you say, “My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,” when you don’t see the log in your own eye? You’re nothing but show-offs! First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend’s eye.
I don’t know about other people but what these verses are getting at speaks a lot about me more often than I would like to admit. It is hard to give help when you have your own misconceptions or agendas. I am finding that I am having to remove myself from the equation (from Tron) to see various things for what they are. It is not easy – the log in my eye is seems to be stuck in there with wood glue – but I am trying.
This is a very self-centered post but it is a blog. Maybe next time there will be something more insightful, who knows.
Until next time, Happy New Year! Ciao, ciao
